Bare-RollEnercon Corona Treating Systems

Ceramic Electrode/Bare-Roll Treaters

Enercon pioneered Bare Roll treating, corona treating without a dielectric covered roll in 1980. Now, well Known as the experienced leader in Bare-Roll treating, Enercon has continued its R & D efforts in electrode materials and station design to achieve higher levels of efficiency while retaining all the benefits of Bare-Roll treating.

Bare-RollFor example, Enercon stations feature an airflow and exhaust system that results in an ozone-safe work area, their high-efficiency rectangular ceramic electrodes increase treatment levels, and they have developed station designs that reduce wrinkling of webs and inhibit oxidation of the treater roll. Your can be sure that the product you purchase from Enercon is at the forefront of corona treating technology.

Custom Bare-Roll Treater Station: Designed to Treat Two Sides at 2,000 Feet/Min.

Bare-Roll Features

  • Reliable, Even Treatment at High Line Speeds
  • Eliminates height-cost, high maintenance Covered Rolls
  • Airflow Systems allow an Open Station For easy Web Threading
  • High Degree of Operator Safety with Electrically Grounded Roll
  • High-Efficiency Treatment of Non-Conductive and Conductive Webs

Hinged Electrode Assembly

  • Easier Maintenance
  • Reduce Downtime
  • Increase Reliability

The shroud containing the electrodes is hinge-mounted to the electrode assembly exhaust tube. To clean the exhaust path, merely rotate the assembly up (I), lock into place and unsnap the heavy-duty clips on one side of the shroud. The electrode shroud can then be rotated out of the way (2). This permits easy cleaning of the exhaust airports and areas behind and between the electrodes without complete assembly removal. This procedure eliminates the need to reset the air gap after each cleaning.

Bare-RollStation Construction

  1. Rugged mechanical construction, with Aluminium shield protecting the electrode to ensure operator safety.
  2. Components made of Steel and Aluminium for maximum operational life in industrial environments.
  3. Ozone removal and electrode cooling are an integral part of the electrode assembly design.

Station Features

  1. Bare-RollEliminates dielectric covering on treater rolls
  2. Saves cost of a spare dielectric roll since it is no longer necessary
  3. No loss of film or production time due to roll covering burnout
  4. Treater roll size (diameter) reduced
  5. Universal System: Treats any web-plastic, foil, metallised film or paper
  6. Exhaust system providing for both ozone removal and electrode temperature stability
  7. Ceramic Electrodes with a long life providing higher treatment levels

Bare-RollStation Options

Through the use of multiple electrode assemblies, nip roll, idler rolls or a combination of these features, stations are available for:

  1. Enhanced treatment for hard to treat material
  2. Application where backside treatment is a potential problem
  3. Applications where wrinkling is a potential problem
  4. Electrode assembly mounted over existing idler roll where space is non-existent
