Vehicle Test SystemsVehicle testing, where time counts!

In partnership with Froude Hofmann, Dynaspede supplies a range of Vehicle Test Systems to the automotive markets specifically designed for testing passenger cars, light to heavy-duty trucks, motorcycles, buses, agricultural vehicles and specific component sub-assemblies.

Froude Hofmann Vehicle Test Systems include modular chassis dynamometers with innovative mechanical design and efficient, high response electrical inertia simulation. Control is provided by high accuracy VME-based computer systems utilizing Windows™ XP user interface technology.

Vehicle Test SystemsIndustry standard test cycle programmes are integrated within the powerful software as well as the facility to generate customer-specific test sequences. Data acquisition and display is provided in real time and offline as required. This data can be manipulated and analysed in the Froude Hofmann data-plotting package.

The award winning Froude Hofmann Automatic Robot Driver System and Automatic Fuel Supply System are just two additional advanced technology options that enable Froude Hofmann to provide a complete automated test facility.

Emission Testing

Vehicle Test SystemsThe Froude Hofmann range of Emissions Chassis Dynamometers provide precise road load simulation equivalent to that actually experienced by the vehicle on the road or test track. Utilising industry standard 48” rolls, testing for 2WD, 4WD and fully independent roller configurations for legislative emissions testing on light or medium duty vehicles is possible.

Froude Hoffman offers an accurate, repeatable and responsive electrical inertia simulation dynamometer exceeding the demanding performance criteria laid down by the U.S. EPA directive and the global automotive industry.

Climatic Testing

Vehicle Test SystemsModern vehicles are expected to perform reliably and to specification under extreme conditions across the world, from sub-zero conditions in the Artic circle to the humid heat of the tropical rain forests. A vehicle needs to be tested in facilities that can simulate every kind of driving condition during a vehicle development programme.

Froude Hofmann has a range of specialist dynamometers to provide accurate and repeatable road load simulation, speed and force, or acceleration control. Variable speed cooling fans can be provided to reproduce the required airflow simulation. When installed in an environmental chamber, the vehicle can be tested under simulated conditions within the factory premises. With Froude Hoffmann products, these test conditions are always within reach, and testing is efficient and repeatable.

NVH Testing

Vehicle Test SystemsWith continuous development of motor vehicles comes the demand for improving passenger safety and comfort. The measurement and evaluation of vehicle noise, vibration, and harshness levels, however, is subject to the variations in road and climatic conditions.

By using a chassis dynamometer within an anechoic chamber, the difficulty in monitoring these parameters under controlled conditions can be overcome. Froude Hofmann has many specialist dynamometer facilities, which investigate NVH levels whilst the vehicle is running under accurate and repeatable road load simulation, speed, force, or acceleration control.

Endurance Testing

Vehicle Test SystemsThe Froude Hofmann Endurance (mileage accumulation) systems utilise the same range of chassis dynamometers as for the emissions application. By integrating a robot driver, automatic re-fuelling, air speed simulation fans, data acquisition and safety devices, we provide a fully automated test cell, enabling unsupervised, 24-hour testing of the vehicle over its expected lifespan, (typically 100,000 miles or more) in an accelerated time period.
